Welcome to the series on weekly transits, out every Monday afternoon!
This week is all about personal connections, the sacrifices we make to keep them going, and why it’s worth it.
On Thursday, Venus opposes Mars, and we’ll feel the tension building in the lead up. Men vs. women, action vs. ease, reconciliation vs. vicious cutting of ties. Look, no one is going to think this is fun. But I do think it’s necessary.
There’s a reason Venus and Mars are a natural pair. They represent opposite but complementary principles. Imagine if we got rid of Mars and were left with all honey, soft beds, and lingering kisses? That sounds great, but how are we going to make money? Who’s taking out the trash? Life can’t be lived from a gilded cage! And then imagine we got rid of Venus and were left with action, fire, iron, and blood. When do you rest? When do you enjoy what you worked for? When do you dream?
And think about this with respect to relationships. There’s certainly something great about finding someone who makes your life easier. But if they do, it’s invariably because the fill in gaps. They complement you. And that means that sometimes you are going to butt heads. I don’t think there’s really such a thing and someone saying, “Man, I love this person so much because they never once challenged me or changed my perspective or meaningfully impacted my life in any way.” That’s not what real relationships are about!
And if you’re on the same team in the end, you can work it out. On Friday, Mercury retrograde sextiles Venus. If things got a little heated, this is a change to take back what you said, talk it through, and remind yourself why this person or situation is good for you after all.
Finally, Sunday pops off with a Full Moon in Gemini while Mercury turns direct. I think we’ll all get a little laugh. The trials of the last few weeks have been rough without question, but they sure as hell weren’t boring! On top of that, maybe life will start moooving again. Or at least we can all stop talking about each other and instead starting really, truly communicating. It’s worth a shot, right?
