Did They Fool You Too? – Neptune and Charisma

Neptune

We hear a lot about the negative sides of Neptune. When it’s prominent in a chart, we typically think about confusion, lack of direction, and other people projecting upon us. But that last point, the projection – there’s a twist there. And it can be positively dangerous.

We’re not all Neptune-heavy people, right? So when we meet someone who is, we’re the ones doing the projecting, consciously or not. And the truth is that most of us are fundamentally decent, and we expect others to be as well. So what we project can easily end up being much more positive than the person deserves.

One of the best examples of this is Taylor Swift. She has Neptune conjunct her Mercury and Saturn in Capricorn. This is one of the reasons why she is able to capture universal experiences so well. Her Neptune allows her access to those broad energies and create beautiful words around them. But it is also why she has been able to make a career of being relatable. Everyone hears her words and projects their own feelings on to her.

It’s also how she’s made a career of being a victim. She is one of the wealthiest, most powerful, and most famous women in the world. She is a calculating business mogul. She is a corporation. So why do so many people feel the need to jump to her defense? Why do they want to protect her like she’s a tiny bunny? Why, when she expresses even the slightest distaste for anyone, does her army of fans turn on them with wanton viciousness?

Because of Neptune. Neptune can make a person seem so good. So perfectly, immutably good, that other people begin to identify themselves with that person, creating a parasocial relationship with their hologram. And when that happens, the Neptune person can choose to use it.

I have more than one client right now in a battle with a Neptunian person. In each case, my client is objectively right. They are reasonable and correct and in any just world would be winning.

But it doesn’t matter.

The Neptunian has convinced everyone that they are the good guy, the likable underdog, the generous, kind soul who is being mistreated by the big meanie. And in every case, they’re winning. Because you don’t have to be right to win. You just have to be likable.

In the next installment, I’ll talk about how to circumvent this process. But for now, tell me about the Neptunian people in your life. Have you ever experienced something like this? Are you Neptunian?
