Welcome to the series on weekly transits, out every Monday afternoon!
Well, things certainly feel real now, don’t they? Last week we were in a long run-up to Venus square Neptune, which made everything feel surreal, like a soft-focus dream sequence or nightmare. But today? Today our feelings, goals and desires are rooted in reality, and the reality will just keep coming.
Today Venus enters Capricorn. I think we all feel that. No more hopes or feelings of possible victory, no more Sagittarian bubble. All I want today is to find a schedule that is doable. I want to go to the grocery and restock my baking essentials before the holiday season. I want my medicine to work. I want real things. I’ll bet you do too.
Tomorrow Mercury squares Saturn, continuing the theme. I will be giving a presentation about advanced Excel techniques to my new colleagues. I will be working two jobs simultaneously. I will be discussing travel logistics, and then I’ll be going to bed early.
On Friday, Saturn will turn direct, capping off the trudge through reality. It will be time to get things moving. The wheels of the government will begin to churn, the holiday season will begin, along with its exchange of money, and we will start to get things done.
But Friday also brings us a Full Moon in Taurus conjunct Uranus. That - that is different. That’s what keeps this from being the most boring post I’ve ever written. We have a Full Moon that is in an earth sign – we’re still dealing with what’s real. But we’re dealing with what feeds us, what nurtures us, what keeps us rooted and grounded and home. And this is right on the planet of lightning and change.
Because for all its mundanity, life isn’t business as usual anymore, is it? Something powerful and important has changed, and we can smell it like a far-off rain. We can feel the electricity raise the hairs on our necks.
So what do we do to take care of ourselves? Really, what do we do? The answer will be individual and surprising, because that’s what Uranus is. So…are you moving your money? Changing your investments? Finding methods of self-care that extend beyond meditation and bubble baths? I want to know. Because I don’t have answers here either. I’m waiting to be shocked. For enlightenment. For something I can’t name. All I can do is be ready to greet it when it arrives.
